The Essence of our Work

Our work serves people of all ages as they step more fully into their practice of leading.....by bringing heart and meaning - through participation - into their personal lives, their work and/or their communities..... in order to reveal sustainable realities and practices.

We work as a field of two - and/or with other colleagues - and our work serves the building of communities of practice. We focus attention at the level of catalysing shifts in both perception and working practices individually and collectively. We support people, by offering our hosting practice, to come together and engage in meaningful conversations in order to find the trust and inspiration to move into new consciousness that in turn creates new realities.

Who we are

Sarah Whiteley,
BSc(Hon), PGCE, Diploma Shiatsu

"I am inspired by the earth’s energy and natural beauty and, when I, and others, sense the beauty and magic of true nature – our own and all of nature".

I see nature as our greatest teacher in self-organizing and believe that being in nature can open people to different perspectives so that new visions and actions can be taken on a collective basis.  I create space for the ‘inner state’  - the place of intuitive awareness and deep body-mind connection to be recognized as vital for balanced and appropriate decision making and action, and how this awareness opens us to our natural ability to pre-sense (presence) the field of the future by being in the now.

My work has always involved the personal development of people, especially in the context of the natural environment. I have done this as a Teacher, an Outdoor Educator, and managing Prince’s Trust programmes. More recently, I have transferred this experience to working with organisations and communities, supporting people to create and take action on a collective basis.

What inspires me? "I love being with people, sharing conversation and stories.  I am intrigued by how life unfolds especially how it depends on diversity and how it accommodates so much uniqueness".

I am inspired by what takes place on the edge of chaos with just enough order – the ‘chaordic’ field, (formed by borrowing the first syllable of the two words).  It is here where I support people to work together in order to invite learning and innovation so that radical change can be discovered and where collective intelligence and creativity emerges.

Over the past 12 years I have worked with supporting people to create environments where dialogue and conversation plays a central role in developing ideas and actions. I have done this through being a Management Development Consultant, Project Manager with communities, Senior Manager in Local Government and now being a partner in Harå

Our Approach

Our work is inspired by how nature evolves, the integrated intelligence held within the Inner State and what happens when people gather with the intention of learning and evolving their personal, work and living practices together with others. We have noticed that the principles of self-organisation, participation and non-linearity are key to both individual and collective learning and discovery. This is both different and complimentary to more traditional ways of working, which are primarily based on rational planning mechanisms and which often aim at establishing control in order to manage outcomes. We are, therefore, particularly inspired by what takes place on the edge of chaos with just enough order – the chaordic field, (formed by borrowing the first syllable of the two words). It is here that learning and innovation takes place so that radical change can be discovered. It is also here that we can turn to one another to invite collective intelligence and creativity to emerge.

Our Assumptions

  • We all hold the answers/solutions – it is just a matter of uncovering them

  • Our diverse perspectives allows something greater than any one of us to emerge

  • We all have something to learn & teach each other

  • Our greatest potential lies between us and within ourselves

  • The field between ‘not knowing’ and ‘emergence’ is the place where creativity takes place

  • Staying curious is more important than being certain

  • We are all interconnected with the wider web of life

  • Connecting with our individual passions and offering it with responsibility and consciousness creates balance in the world
